Spitball Gang performs for Elks fans on Saturday July 31st.
Jacob Clem started for the Elks, going 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, striking out 5. Nick Loredo was charged with the loss, throwing the 7th, giving up 1 run on 2 hits breaking the 4-4 tie after 6. Logan Scott threw the final 2 innings, but not without trouble, giving up 6 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 2.
At the plate for the Elks, Brian Pointer had the only multi-hit game, going 2-4 and scored a run. Among the Elks with one hit, Travis Higgs went 1-3 with a solo home run, Garrett Queen had a pinch hit solo-home run in the 8th, Steven Halcomb had an RBI double, and Tommy Richards had an RBI double. Chris Viegas, Donald Collins, Mitch Karraker, and Peter Lavin had a pinch-hit single in the 9th for the Elks, who did nothing to correct their recent woes back at home.
The Elks return to play tomorrow, first pitch at 6:35. The Spitball Gang, a traveling group of mascots will be on hand to entertain all ages, so come on out to the ball park as it should be a great time for everyone as the Elks again take on the Black Bears.
