Gonzaga Bulldog Drew Heid, a sophmore outfielder from Goldendale, Washington will be in Bend this summer along with an impressive list of players from around the PAC-10, Big West, SEC, WCC, SCIAC, NAIA and GNAC. Heid is hitting .382 for the Bulldogs as of May 4. read more...

The Bend Elks have have plans to build a new indoor baseball training facility at Genna Stadium. Plans will be submitted to both the City of Bend and Bend Metro Park & Recreation District to obtain the permits necessary to start construction. The facility will double the amount  of bathrooms at the stadium, provide over 13,000 square feet of an indoor artifical turf the size of a regulation 90 foot infield, and relocation of the Bend Elks ticket and administration offices to the buidling. Plans will  be to have the facility ready by the end of 08 season. Full story from the Bend Bulletin

Good old-fashioned baseball is back with the Bend Elks. Everything you love about baseball - Fierce competition. Wooden bats. Beer. And none of the things you don’t - Politics. Huge egos. Crowded parking lots. So get ready for some intense action. There’s no question that these up and comers are hungry to play in the big leagues. Having said that, we recommend you hang on to those autographs.

  Elks new coach
Ryan Thompson has accepted the head coach position for the 2008 season.

Ryan played at UC Davis and earned his undergraduate degree in 2000, he then proceeded to obtain a graduate degree from the University of San Francisco in 2003 and is currently an assistant coach at Cuesta Community College in San Louis Obispo. Ryan's initial priority with the Elks is to build the 2008 roster with the mission of returning the Elks to post season play. More details on Ryan will follow soon.
