Elks Look to Regain Momentum on the Road Against Marion Berries
Coming off a heartbreaking 7–6 walk-off loss to the Portland Pickles, the Bend Elks are aiming to bounce back as they hit the road to face the Marion Berries this evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. and can be heard live on Bend Elks Mixlr.
With tensions running high and early playoff positioning on the line, this midweek series presents a pivotal opportunity for the Elks to get back on track.
Bend has struggled away from Vince Genna Stadium, entering Tuesday’s contest with a 3–7 road record. Three of those losses have come via walk-off, adding to a string of crushing defeats on the road. The Elks are also 3–7 over their last 10 games overall.
This week brings another road challenge in Marion, followed by a three-game home series this weekend against the Yakima Valley Pippins.
To halt the skid, Bend will turn to right-hander Justin Schramm, a hometown product from Bend, Oregon. Schraam enters the game with a 3.55 ERA over 12 2/3 innings pitched. He'll be opposed by Marion right-hander David Roberts, who plays collegiately at Saint Mary’s College in California. Roberts holds a 7.71 ERA through 9 1/3 innings.
Projected starters for the rest of the Marion series:
• Tyrelle Chadwick (Bend) vs. Johnny Ingalls (Marion)
• Christopher Wrench (Bend) vs. Jordan Lennartson (Marion)
